Living within your whole soul by being yourself 

The headliner of the 2025 Gaia Channeling Conference was Darryl Anka, also known as Bashar. His talk was stirring and impactful. It means so much to hear speakers put the soul and spirit in its rightful place - front & center! We are all spirits having a human experience. Like the other speakers in this conference, I could really see a distinct difference between Darryl Anka, the person, and the entity he channeled, Bashar. 

Bashar spoke with authority. He came across as caring, with a concern for humankind. The first thing he said was that we are a soul. Rather than saying that we “have” a soul, we should say that we “are” a soul. Bashar explained that saying we have a soul puts the physical reality as primary, when this is not the truth. Instead, he insisted that the non-physical is primary. 

The next idea he presented really made an impact for me personally. What an incredible way to think about the nature of life as a soul. Bashar said that the soul … breathes. The soul inhales, expanding to a whole soul. It then exhales, focusing down to a specific incarnation. This expansion and contraction happens at the same time. However, the individual will experience the expansion and contraction separately, linearly. The body is a projection of consciousness within a soul. But we are always inside the soul. 

Bashar emphasized how much humans need to master soul technology. We need to understand  that we are a soul first. What is often referred to as the higher self is actually the whole soul. It communicates with us. Beliefs are key, as they hold up this physical reality. 

The soul is a mirrored ball - we project to the soul and it shines back. This provides feedback about how aligned we are or are not. We, as individuals, are a mask that our soul wears. We can always express more of our soul by making our mask more transparent. Bashar advised us not to be scared of ALL that we are. 

“But we are always inside the soul.” 

Wow. I loved hearing Bashar’s explanation. It seemed to boil down the most complex concept to simple terms. I personally use the term “higher self” so it helped expand my understanding by rethinking it as “the whole soul” instead. I always knew that the soul is actually much bigger than what we typically picture. But this idea that the whole soul breathes into different incarnations… wow! The soul is WAY bigger than I was picturing!! 

Bashar really cut to the heart of human beings’ yearning. He said, “You are your destiny, you are the path. You are a mask that your soul is wearing, though you can express more of yourself (your soul).” I can attest to this strong desire to understand my destiny or my life path. In My First Steps blog piece, my spiritual journey led to many different spiritual teachings and beliefs. But all the different teachings always pointed to going within to find God and find your way. 

Bashar asserted that now is the time of choice. As we learn more about reality, we will have more choices. Existence never changes, but our relationship to it does. Existence never ends or begins, it always IS. There are multiple futures/possibilities available and we all crystallize into the reality we are most aligned to. 

The next message was so beautiful. It felt loving. As I looked around the room, I saw faces light up and hearts open. Bashar advised that if we have something to give, there is always someone waiting to receive it. For this reason, we should NOT hesitate. Instead, we should be ourselves. Be your unique self. We are mirrors for each other. We need your unique POV!! 

I felt that in my heart. So many of us hesitate to do something because we feel we need to be perfect. And by “many of us”, I mean “me”. :)  Bashar advised that we learn as we go. There is no assumption or requirement of being perfect! What does matter is that we share our gifts. We can even give a disclaimer about the fact that you are practicing or starting out if we want … but START! Reality is unconditionally supportive of us. 

“If we have something to give, there is always someone waiting to receive it. For this reason, we should NOT hesitate. Instead, we should be ourselves.”  

Darryl described Bashar as an extraterrestrial from another time and place. He comes from a parallel reality that moves 10X faster than ours. On Bashar’s planet, his people live an average of 300 years. In fact, his father is over 1,000 years old! Time is so different between the two: though Darryl has been channeling Bashar for 4 years, 40 years have passed for Bashar! 

Now some people may read the paragraph above and throw your hands in the air, exasperated. “What a bunch of BS!!!” 

There is no hard and fast evidence that only 4 years have passed for Darryl on Earth, while 40 years have passed on Bashar’s planet. There is no association certifying that Darryl is really channeling an alien from a distant planet. But, I personally have to suspend my disbelief to really consider these ideas.  

If time is circular and we are all a part of the same energy, then it is possible for Darryl to connect to another entity in another time. It is also possible for this entity to have a different perspective and frame of mind that we would have. This conference kept blowing my mind!  

We finally got to a Q&A portion of this session. The audience had some fantastic questions. It was very exciting to see channeled entities addressing questions live. It's fascinating to me! 

Someone asked about 2027 - The Year Everything Changes. Bashar described this as the idea that Earth will have open contact with extraterrestrials (ETs)  in 2027. He explained that by 2050, most of humanity will understand that ETs are real and that we can interact with them. It will be our choice to join the intergalactic family, or not. It is an open invitation. Bashar assured us that any negative ETs have been kept away from Earth. So, there is nothing to fear. Earth is very important to the galactic family. 

Another audience member asked about hallucinogens. Bashar said that the GABA neurotransmitter in the brain functions as a filter for the mind. This filter helps us focus on 3D reality on this plane. After all, if we could see all of reality at once, it would overwhelm us in our current form. 

Like Mattias de Stefano’s channeled entity said, “This duality makes it possible for us to experience this world. In fact, if everyone understood the true nature of reality at once, existence would disappear. We would drop our agreed-upon illusory state, and all of existence would come back to a pre-big bang state, when all of existence was literally ONE.” - Ghan, The Weaver (Ghan, The Weaver at Gaia)

Bashar explained that when you take hallucinogens like DMT, the drug reduces the GABA filter to allow us to see more of actual reality. Rather than hallucinating and seeing something that is “not there,” we are seeing more of the totality of reality. Bashar even confirmed a follow-up question, saying that GABA is the “veil between worlds”. 

The veil (noun): the boundary dividing the mundane, linear experience of life from the boundless, interconnected spectrum of ultimate reality.

This response absolutely spoke to me. Hallucinating is seeing more, rather than seeing something that is not there. What a different way to consider people who are seeing or hearing things.   

As the session wound down, the audience was still completely engaged and fascinated by Darryl channeling Bashar. We didn’t want it to end when the last question was presented:

What are your final thoughts to the audience? 

Bashar shared: “Follow your passion, raise your vibrations, improve your antennae abilities, lower your filters. Learn to be your true self and love who you truly are. True intelligence works in systems… so be yourself as this serves ALL.”

As an emerging writer and entrepreneur, this advice really gave me validation. As I develop my business, SpiritualEyes, I am going in the right direction pursuing what makes me unique. Following my passion is the best way to really be myself. And even more beautifully, there are people waiting for my messages and my point of view. 

I hope you are loving who you truly are and following your passion. Learn as you go and plug into your whole soul. I will definitely keep learning from Darryl’s unique POV and his amazing connection to Bashar.
